An Oklahoma City Small Business Website Checklist

Hardly any of this is about looks. It is whether a stranger can tell that you stop at how far past the turnpike you go, when a person answers, and what it runs.

Say how far out the metro you go

Serving Oklahoma City tells nobody anything. The city limits alone run past six hundred square miles, and somebody in Yukon has no idea whether a crew photographed in Midtown will come that far.

Write the line the way you dispatch it. Inside the Kilpatrick daily. Edmond and Moore on scheduled days. Norman by quote. It reads as refusing work and mostly it removes calls you would have declined.

Say what you do the morning after hail

One afternoon in spring can put every roof in three additions onto an insurance claim, and within a day the neighborhood fills with crews nobody has heard of.

State it plainly. Inspections inside forty-eight hours. We meet the adjuster. Same-day tarping where the deck is open. That paragraph wins more work than anything else on the page.

Put shelters on the page before May

Almost nobody here has a basement, which is why safe rooms and in-garage shelters are a standard purchase rather than an unusual one.

If you install them, say what you fit, what the anchoring and rating actually mean, and how far out you are booking. People search for it the week after a bad one and again every spring.

Explain the clay under the slab

The ground here swells and shrinks with the season, and it will move a slab far enough to crack brick and jam doors.

If you touch foundations, drainage, or grading, explain how you tell movement from settlement and what watering a foundation actually achieves. That paragraph closes jobs on its own.

Say something about the shaking if it affects your work

The ground here has become considerably more active than it was a generation ago, and homeowners have started noticing cracks they did not use to see.

If you assess that kind of damage, or you know how to tell it from ordinary slab movement, say so. Very few competitors address it at all.

Put the licence number in the footer

Oklahoma licenses the mechanical trades at state level, and after every storm this metro fills with out-of-state crews. Customers have learned to check.

Footer of every page rather than an about page nobody opens. It is the cheapest way to separate a real storm shelter and roofing outfit from the storm chasers who showed up the day after.

Photograph houses that look like theirs

A stock kitchen says nothing. A re-roof on a brick ranch south of the river, with the hail bruising visible in the before shot, tells a homeowner you have done their exact job.

Phone photographs are fine. Work around a May afternoon under a tornado watch rather than against it, and keep the frames that show hail-stripped roofs finished rather than halfway apart.

Put a figure next to each service

Leaving the price off reads as expensive. A floor, a range, what hail-stripped roof usually runs, or a flat inspection fee gives somebody enough to act on.

Publish a band and the phone rings less and converts more, because whoever calls about a hail-stripped roof has already accepted roughly what it costs.

Keep the listing and the site telling one story

Hours, coverage, categories, and phone number have to agree between the map listing and the site. Where they conflict, somebody in the Plaza District believes the listing.

Check it the day after any severe weather, because that is the week your listing gets read the most.
